Title:  Nanostructured Hybrid Electrodes for Silicon Heterojunction Solar Cells

Silicon heterojunction (SHJ) solar cells suffer from optical loss due to reflection from thick metallic fingers. A more conductive transparent electrode (TCE) can increase cell efficiency by simultaneously allowing an increase in finger spacing and a reduction in I2R losses, without compromising fill factor (FF). In this demonstrator we show the large-area fabrication of nanowire hybrid electrodes on SHJ cells. This new nanostructured electrode increases transmission relative to ITO while improving conductivity by 10x, allowing an increase in finger pitch from 2 mm to 5 mm and yielding a 2.2% absolute increase in cell efficiency!
