Title: New solutions for super resolution

Abstract

Science is always searching for the smallest details that would help understand how the slightest and most delicate process of life function and can be manipulated. Super resolution, has been a key tool for scientists in the last decade but this area of knowledge has been under study since the Abbe limit was establish in 1873 and it is in constant development.

In this talk Nikon instruments Europe will present the latest developments in super resolution in the area of structured illumination (N-SIM) and stochastic optical reconstruction (STORM). In addition, we would present a new unique technique for super resolution based on conical diffraction, this option can be integrated to the Nikon Confocal.

 

 

 

Bio

Dr. Laura Lleras Forero, originally from Colombia, received her Ph.D degree in developmental biology from King's College London in 2012. She continued her academic career in the field of embryology, in the Max Delbruck centre for Molecular Medicine in Berlin Germany and did her second postdoctoral research in the Hubrecht Institute developmental Biology and Stem Cell Research. For the last year and a half she has worked for Nikon Instruments Europe as an European product specialist for Biostation, Confocal Laser Scanning Microscope and Spinning Disk systems.
